Beschreibung

Start at the Waltensburg valley station and take winter hiking trail 11 in the direction of Brigels (Brigels village). Follow the path until you reach the reservoir in Brigels. You now have the option of circling the lake on winter hiking trail 8 or simply traversing the dam on the left on winter hiking trail 9. Follow winter hiking trail 9 until you reach the asphalt road that leads down to the village on the right. After approx. 250 meters you arrive at the “Volg”. From there, turn left along the main road to the Hotel Kistenpass. Attention: Take the left-hand road in the direction of “Crest la Crusch”. Once on this road, follow it until you reach winter hiking trail 11. Now you can follow the winter hiking trail 11 to Waltensburg. Once in the village, walk to the crossroads, which leads left up to the Waltensburg valley station, where you started your hike.

Geheimtipp

You can also start this route from Brigels. If you would like to round off the hike with a cultural visit, the famous frescoes by the “Waltensburg Master” are a good choice.

Sicherheitshinweis

The tour should not be undertaken in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes are frequent in the mountains. If a bad weather front or similar moves in during the hike, you should turn back in good time.

Ausrüstung

Catering with a hot drink, high and sturdy hiking boots or winter boots, warm clothing, sun protection, hiking poles an advantage.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

Train stop Ilanz/Glion. Then take the bus to Waltensburg/Vuorz. Get off at the Waltensburg/Vuorz, Ucliva stop. Further information on the timetable can be found on the SBB website: www.sbb.ch.

Anreise Information

Main street (No. 19). Junction Waltensburg/Vuorz. Follow the road to the Waltensburg/Vuorz valley station.

Parken

In winter, the parking spaces at the valley station in Breil-vitg and Waltensburg/Vuorz are subject to a charge in zone 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for day visitors and in zone 2, 00:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. for Maiensäss owners and guests. The first 30 minutes are free. Parking fees can be paid via the ParkingPay app, at the central parking meters and, for Zone 2, at the ticket offices of the valley stations.
