Bridge Surselva
Versamer Brücke
Beschreibung
Between the pithy Coray and the parlor scholars, there were occasional frictions in the course of their cooperation. We want to record one of them. One of the first bridge scaffolds that Coray created, the one for the mighty Versamer Bridge, had the difficulty that the distance between the two scaffolding flanks was no less than 25 m. It had to be bridged without supports. For this, the engineer proposed a complicated procedure, which also meant that not all beams could be inserted. When Coray asked the engineer how the missing beam should be mounted, the engineer replied how the missing beam should be mounted, the engineer replied briefly: "That's their business" and warped. Coray therefore felt compelled to move the beams by means of a provisionally mounted cable crane. When the engineer, on his next visit to the construction site, asked the scaffolding practitioner in amazement how he had managed this difficult assembly, Coray replied: "That's my business."
