Beschreibung
The mountain village of Falera can look back on a long history. The first settlers already existed several millennia ago not far from the church of St. Remigius. Excavations in the 1940s provided evidence of a Bronze Age settlement and many finds such as pottery, grinding stones, sickles and a magnificent bronze needle from the 2nd millennium BC. These finds are now on display in the Rhaetian Museum in Chur. On a walk over the prehistoric settlement mound you will also discover shell stones and column-like boulders of unknown function. The landmark of Falera is the church of St. Remigius. The tower dates back to the 13th century.
Scientific research is currently underway to learn even more about the first settlers.
