Beschreibung

The Tschentaneras trail in Castrisch is groomed for classic and skating and is approx. 5 km long. It is centrally located and easily accessible by car and public transport. You can enjoy a wonderful view of the Surselva mountains. The village of Castrisch is located at the entrance to the Ruinaulta, the Rhine Gorge - also known as the “Swiss Grand Canyon”. The history of the Ruinaulta began with the huge Flims landslide around 10,000 years ago. The Rhine was dammed up and carved its way over thousands of years - forming the Ruinaulta.

The trail is only 700 meters above sea level and is not always spoiled with snow.

CHF 5.00 for local day passes available at the piste entrance.

Sicherheitshinweis

Adapt your running style to your ability. Descents should be tackled slowly, especially on steeper terrain.

Ausrüstung

Good cross-country skiing equipment is essential for this route. Great importance should be attached to functional cross-country skiing clothing, suitable cross-country skiing boots, poles of the right length and cross-country skis of the right length. Wegbeschreibung

The route starts at the “Kiesgrube Montalta” parking lot in Sevgein. The trail leads from the parking lot towards Castrisch village and from Castrisch back to the parking lot.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

Arrival by public transport:

from Ilanz train station: Bus 405 to the stop Plaun Gera, Sevgein (5 minutes walk to the cross-country ski trail)

from Castrisch station: The cross-country ski trail is about a 15-minute walk away in Pieinas.

Anreise Information

From Ilanz town in the direction of Castrisch follow the Ilanzerstrasse. After crossing the bridge, you have to turn right at the second road, opposite the Landgasthof Glenner. Turn left at the first entrance (Montalta gravel pit).

Parken

The parking lot "Montalta" in Sevgein is in a gravel pit and has many parking spaces.
