The Schamserberg with its near-natural cultural landscape characterized by centuries of cultivation is a habitat for a variety of animal and plant species. Dry meadows and pastures are among the most species-rich habitats in the cultural landscape. The hike takes you along the magnificent variety of meadows and pastures on the upper Schamserberg, to the observation bench.
At the start in Mathon is the exhibition «mia natira». It forms the heart of the project "Meadows and Pastures on the Schamserberg". The trailer, which has been converted into an interactive exhibition, is open daily. Here you will find the overview map of the upper Schamserberg, which shows selected located meadows and pastures and typical plant and animal species.

Wegbeschreibung
From Mathon, the hiking trail leads through a sparse larch forest pasture up to the Mursenas mountain pasture. Past a flat moor and the swinging lawn, we go to the mountain lake Libi. Here the mountain lake shore is ideal for a rest and with a little luck skylarks can be observed at the observation bench. The hike now leads down to Lohn.
