Beschreibung

It is a historically secondary route, mainly traveled by herdsmen and hunters, later joined by the "spalloni", the smugglers who used it intensively for their cross-border traffic from Gravedona and Dongo to Roveredo.

The itinerary begins in the area of San Fedele, renowned for its numerous grottos where you can taste the local products of the area. The path then continues passing next to the church of the Madonna del Ponte or Sant'Anna which stands at the entrance to the Traversagna valley and is preceded by two arched stone bridges that cross the river of the same name. The path then continues to climb into the mountains, until it reaches the border with Italy.

Along the way, it is possible to make a detour to see the tower of Boggiano, dating back to 1406, which stands on a rocky spur at the entrance to Val Traversagna.
