Bäsäbeiz zum Wäschhuus

Strahlegg is a hamlet of Fideris and is separated from the village by the Arieschbach ravine on the local connecting road towards Küblis. On the Schärräbüel, where this Bäsäbeiz is located, driving and hiking trails from all directions meet.

Centrally but idyllically located on a meadow and shaded by a mighty lime tree, you will find a simple but lovingly furnished self-service pub in this old washing and meat smokehouse. Sitting here on a warm summer's day in the remote tranquility of this small village in the shade of the lime tree and the house, or even lying down in the grass, is almost like meditation.

On offer are cool lemonades from Grono in Graubünden, homemade elderberry syrup with water from the fountain, good Italian coffee and herbal tea from Poschiavo. Alcoholic beverages are available on request. Satisfy the small hunger with Fideriser cake and fine nut croissants from the village bakery Gujan or homemade Totäbeinli according to Naani's recipe. The offer is rounded off by dried sausages from the Klosters meat centre and Simon Frei from Schiers and, depending on the season, fine alpine and goat's cheese.

In the Wäschhuus you will also find literature about the Prättigau, beautiful postcards and photo cards and also handicrafts. If the operator is on site, she may tell you a story in the rustic Prättigau Walser dialect and answer your questions about the country and its people.
