Beschreibung

This hike is packed with three highlights: the Hexenplatte "Platta dil Barlot", the extraordinary Hexensee "Lai dalla Stria", and the newly marked ascent on a blue/white route via Alp Caschlé. Already after Uaul Flurin, we overlook Val Tujetsch almost from a bird's eye view and immerse ourselves in a varied landscape. The Hexenplatte still lies in a gentle hollow on a meadow, but after switching to the blue/white route, it soon becomes rockier, and we get a glimpse into Val Strem with Wittenalpstock and Oberalpstock. We must be attentive for navigation since no trails have formed yet. Once we reach the highest point on the ridge, Hexensee lies before us, unfathomably dark and nestled among bright, rounded rocks. On the green moss bands between, rare flowers grow, and if we're lucky, we even find crystals. For an extensive picnic, we choose the large rock that almost towers like a pulpit over the water. The reason we see the mountain panorama twice is not due to the wine we brought, but the fantastic reflections the lake is known for. On the section to Val Milar, we cross small wetlands and streams, and below Mittelplatten it goes downhill along the valley path to Rueras.

Important: If you are using GPS—the path is not yet recorded on the topographic map, so the route may be somewhat inaccurate! We stick to the red/white and blue/white markings!

Geheimtipp

Crystals lying around can simply be taken; only those carrying tools need a prospector's license.

Sicherheitshinweis

In midsummer, cows with their calves graze in Val Milar. Caution is advised. The white/blue marked part of the hike requires sure-footedness and a good sense of direction.

Wegbeschreibung

We leave the stop heading north, pass under the tracks, and hike right on a driveable road to its end. Before the alpine pasture, we branch left and then once again higher up. We meet a forest road where, diagonally opposite, a hiking trail leads through the forest. We stay on the route to Caschlé, where a new signpost with a blue/white route is set. We follow this to Hexensee. At the lake, we meet another signpost with red/white markings. Between Hexensee and Lai Selvadi, we follow the signage left downhill until we meet hiking trail no. 43. Continuing left downhill, we reach an asphalt road at Pardatsch, which we follow to the train stop.
