Vilan round tour

The starting point of the hike can be reached from Malans with the Älplibahn, which is operated and supported by volunteers. The goal is not profit-oriented, but the preservation of the railway for summer operation. The ascent to the Vilan summit is first through a wooded section, soon over picturesque alpine landscapes and later on a beautiful mountain path. The popular summit destination offers a magnificent panorama of the Rhine Valley, the Churfirsten and other well-known mountains such as the Piz Bernina, Piz Kesch, Piz Linard and the Ringelspitz. From the summit, the descent and return takes place along the well-marked path on the ridge eastwards to Sadreinegg and further over Alp Sadrein to the Luvadina pasture fountain with a magnificent view over the Prättigau. Through loose forest, the hiking trail later joins the alpine road, which climbs to the Jeninser Obersäss and from there leads back to the mountain station of the Älplibahn.
