View of the Unterer Segnesboden

From the Segneshütte there is a gigantic view of the glacier landscape of the lower Segnesboden. You can clearly see the large alluvial plain. This occurs when meltwater streams make their way through the rock material heaped up by the former glacier and then form a kind of cable pattern.

Based on the size of the alluvial plain, it is possible to estimate the extent of the former glacier. Right next to the Segnes hut is the visitor pavilion, where you will find a lot of information about the surrounding mountain landscape. The Segnes hut is the starting point for numerous hikes for young and old, which invite you to discover the landscape on your own :
