Vecchio Monastero, Poschiavo

Behind the parish church of San Vittore Mauro on the village square lies an impressive monastery. Since 1629 it has been the seat of a women's community, which has belonged to the Augustinian Order since 1684. The structure was extended in several stages until the 18th century and is surrounded by a high wall. Today it houses a centre for cultural and religious encounters. By appointment, a visit to the monastery complex and the collection of Wolfgang Hildesheimer's collages is possible.
