Vecchio Monastero, Poschiavo

Behind the parish church of San Vittore Mauro, on the village square, there is an imposing convent. Since 1629 it has been the seat of a female community belonging to the Augustinian Order since 1684. The structure was expanded in several stages until the eighteenth century and is surrounded by a high wall. Today it houses a center of cultural and religious meetings. You can visit the monastic complex and the collage collection of Wolfgang Hildesheimer by appointment.
