Beschreibung

To reach the easternmost point of Switzerland, we begin our journey in the neighboring Taufers. A steep but manageable forest path leads up to Rifairalm, which lies in the Stilfserjoch National Park. Across pastureland, we reach the Rifairscharte and follow the ridge to Piz Chavalatsch. Shortly before the summit, you notice the military paths that revive the history of World War I. At the summit of Piz Chavalatsch, you can enjoy the breathtaking 360-degree view of the surrounding valleys in the wind shadow of the summit hut, which serves as a weather station. An excellent view of Val Mora, Val Müstair, and the Vinschgau is possible. For the descent on the Swiss side, follow the ridge down over pastures and forest paths to Müstair.
