Wall paintings from around 1400 have been preserved in the Stoffelhaus in Fürstenau, some of which depict a courtly hunting ceremony. In Graubünden, only Brandis Castle in Maienfeld and Rhäzüns Castle still have similar High Gothic secular paintings.
Beschreibung
Wall paintings from around 1400 have been preserved here. In addition to the courtly stag hunt scene, there are also fragments of an Old Testament story, the battle of Samson with the lion. Other fragments show farmers, cows and a flock of sheep, presumably a cattle raid. A visit to the exhibition can be combined with a guided tour of Fürstenau, the smallest town in the world.
