Beschreibung

The water at the village "Hinterrhein" already has many meters of altitude behind it and up to the North Sea another 1600 meters of altitude in front of it. And this on a journey of 1200 kilometres in length.

The source region of the Hinterrhein can only be reached on foot. The hike requires a head for heights, sure-footedness and good sturdy shoes. Since the trail leads from Hinterrhein via the shooting range, it is necessary to inform yourself about the shooting operation and possible walking times the day before. On weekends there is usually no shooting operation. Depending on the company, transport to the end of the shooting range is also possible for a fee. It is best to organise this directly with the hut keeper of the Zapporthütte. From the Zapporthütte one reaches the source area of the Hinterrhein in approx. 1 hiking hour. You can also spend the night in the Zapporthütte, information on this at https://www.zapporthuette.ch/.

The Grischa Mountain Sports School offers guided tours into the spring area and up to the Rheinquellhorn. Information at www.bergsportschulegrischa.ch.
