This circular tour leads to one of the most beautiful vantage points in the Surselva, the Graubünden Rigi. This is followed by a varied descent through the Lumnezia back to Ilanz.

Beschreibung

Immediately after the start of the tour in Ilanz - the first town on the Rhine - the steep and crisp ascent on the old Flonder road to Flond begins. From here you continue less steeply on forest roads to Surcuolm and finally up to the Graubünden Rigi. After this feat of strength of almost 1000 metres in altitude, it is worth recharging your batteries on the sun terrace of the mountain restaurant and enjoying the unique view of the Rhine Gorge and the surrounding mountains. After the well-deserved break, the first route is along a flowing single trail to the Sogn Carli chapel, which has wrested the name from this tour. Alternately, on single trails and gravel roads, the descent now leads down to Morissen and on to Vella. To master the last two climbs via Cumbel to Sassolas, it is worth filling up the water bottles again at the village fountain or in the Volgladen in Vella. Once you arrive in Sasolas, the last descent awaits you on beautiful single trails to Luven and further down to Ilanz, the start and finish of this panoramic and yet challenging tour.

Geheimtipp

Shorten the tour and treat yourself to a post bus ride from Ilanz to Surcuolm. This saves you around 670 sweaty meters of altitude.

Sicherheitshinweis

In case of uncertain weather conditions, the tour should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar comes up during the tour, you should turn back in time.
