Segantini painted the balcony scene in this quarter on a wooden balcony of the stables that used to stand at Veia Sur Ual 16-18. The original balcony no longer exists. In the background you can see the church of Son Mitgel.
Beschreibung
The painting is in an evening mood – Giovanni Segantini preferred special lighting conditions. Especially the twilight he has depicted again and again in his works of art. But the artist went even further. He influenced the composition of the image with the light and divided the image into different areas. The balcony in the dark forms a private area and in between the public space opens in the light.
