Schnittlauch Insel

For young and old explorers, the Chive Island awaits in front of Mols in Lake Walen. The intense smell of chives tells you, even without setting foot on them, where the island got its name from. It is small and is even flooded from time to time when the water is high. Nevertheless, it is worth a visit. To get there, you need a boat or a kayak. There are no moorings on the island, so swimming is the order of the day. But only when there is no breeding season, because many waterfowl live in the thickets on Chive Island, which must not be disturbed.
