Savognin, the main town of Surses, stretches on both sides of the river Julia and is connected by a romantic bridge dating back to the Middle Ages. The village landscape is dominated by three stately churches. The famous painter Giovanni Segantini (in Surses 1886-1894) already noticed the unique natural beauty in our valley.
