The air separation plant, also known as the "oxygen factory", is a technical and mechanical gem. Several such plants were once planned, one of which is in Ilanz. The factory is the last surviving plant of this type in Switzerland. Registration recommended.
Beschreibung
High-purity oxygen and nitrogen were produced and delivered to the medical force, mainly for the military hospital Disentis. The purpose of this was to ensure supply autonomy independent of suppliers. In the years 1967 – 68 the factory was built. Production began properly in 1969 until 2005. The factory is the last surviving plant of this type in Switzerland.
