SAC Basic Training Course Snowshoe Tours (Advanced Course)

Would you like to roam untouched, snow-covered winter landscapes on foot? Then you're in the winter hiking trend! Enjoy the breathtaking winter panorama with us and deepen your knowledge in the areas of terrain, technique, avalanche awareness and orientation in snowshoeing.

In SAC basic training courses, you will improve your knowledge of the chosen mountain sport. Initial experience in the respective discipline is therefore required. You have acquired this, for example, in an SAC introductory course and then on SAC section tours. Experienced mountain guides promote your independence in the planning and implementation of mountain tours. Easier private or moderately difficult tours with the section are then no longer a problem.

Building on the introductory snowshoe tour course, the topics covered: assessment of avalanche danger, rescue exercise, holistic tour planning (safety, nature compatibility), track creation and walking technique in challenging terrain, orientation even more in depth. After this course, you will be fit to undertake moderately difficult snowshoe tours independently.

These days we are on the road "Behind the moon on the left" - as the region around the Walser village of St. Antönien in Prättigau is affectionately called. Here we find ideal terrain, which enables effective and safe learning in the field under all conditions.
