Along the Walserweg Obersaxen you can hike a piece of cultural history and experience nature up close. Some of the more than 20 information boards accompany you on the nature trail from Giraniga up to the Sassli fireplace. Continue on the 44.5 m long suspension bridge over the Schlettertobel. Crossing the ravine, about 16 m above the stream bed, becomes a small test of courage for some! After a short ascent, the unique "panoramic view" awaits you at the Plàmpoort fireplace (1676 m above sea level), which invites you to linger and relax. The descent to Miraniga is a walk with a view of the various valleys of the Surselva down to Chur and in the opposite direction to Disentis. The nature trail reflects the direct interactions between man, nature and landscape with the diverse topics such as animals, plants, mushrooms, medicinal herbs, flowers, geology and, of course, the life of the Walser people then and now.
Geheimtipp
The two fireplaces Sassli and Plàmpoort are equipped with firewood and toilets. There are also tables and benches for picnics.
The "glass" panorama point near Plàmpoort offers one of the best vantage points in Obersaxen at this altitude.
In cooperation with " Best of Hiking" you can rent hiking equipment free of charge at the tourist information office in Meierhof.
Sicherheitshinweis
In case of uncertain weather conditions, the tour should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are common. If a rain front or similar comes up during the hike, you should turn back in time.
Keep your distance from cattle and calves. Do not touch under any circumstances.
Attention: There is a suspension bridge to cross, which is about 16 meters above the stream bed.

Limited parking in Giraniga. Alternatively in Meierhof, from where the hike can also be started.
