Beschreibung

The Outdoor Fitness Trails in the Heidiland holiday region comprise more than 30 uniformly signposted running routes from a total of 10 stations, making it one of the largest open-air fitness parks in the Alpine region. The Rhine Trail is one of four running trails around the Bad Ragaz station.

The starting point for this 11.1 km long trail is the info point of the Bad Ragaz station at the Giessenpark outdoor pool (503 m above sea level). The first few meters of the trail run on a wide and well-maintained gravel path through the forest to the Rhine. From there, the trail leads over the main road and then almost dead straight along the Rhine dam and the edge of the forest to the Tardis bridge near Landquart (521). As soon as you have crossed the bridge, you return on the other side of the Rhine in the direction of Bad Ragaz. On this side of the Rhine, the road is firmer and partly even tarred and therefore very popular with cyclists. Since the path is located a few meters away from the water, it runs through the middle of a romantic mixed forest. However, the view of the Rhine is never completely blocked! After crossing the main road that connects Bad Ragaz with Maienfeld again, the trail continues along the embankment to the level crossing at the Heidiland service area (504). Once you cross the Rhine, there is a short tarred section on the road that leads to the village. As soon as you cross the railway bridge, however, the trail turns back into the forest and you return via the Rhine embankment to the info point at the Giessenpark outdoor pool.

Geheimtipp

The outdoor fitness trails run mostly on official hiking trails. For orientation on the way, therefore, the hiking trail signaling also helps.

Sicherheitshinweis

Depending on the weather, individual sections can be slippery.

In addition, the expressway must be traversed at one point near Bad Ragaz, so special care must be taken.

Ausrüstung

Normal jogging equipment, sturdy and comfortable footwear.
