Rhine Gorge experience: Versam - Valendas

Thanks to the Rhaetian Railway you will already enjoy a part of the Rhine Gorge on the way to the starting point. From Chur the trains runs on a spectacular line to Versam. Here you leave the train and begin the hiking tour through this impressing natural monument. Always close to the Rhine river and with views on the fascinating rock formations you follow the hiking trail in direction of Valendas. The path is varied and through forests and clearings, always with beautiful views on the gorge and the surrounding mountains. Up and down, sometimes wide and sometimes narrow, but generally this hiking tour is easy and suited for families, as well. Sometimes you will see the Rhaetian Railway on its route through the so called "Swiss Grand Canyon" and in summertime for sure you will see kayaks and rafts on the river. At the end of the hiking tour a cosy café awaits you right at the station of Valendas, before you will experience the Rhine Gorge once again on the return journey with the Rhaetian Railway.
