The Ruinaulta in Graubünden is one of the most magnificent and diverse landscapes in the Alps. The natural monument with a raging river, white cliffs and vast forests is also known as the Grand Canyon of Switzerland.

Beschreibung

What began as the Flims landslide has become a unique backdrop for the Rhine. Between Ilanz and Reinchenau a 10,000 year old path has been carved by the Rhine, forming an unforgettable rock formation. This area is called the Swiss Grand Canyon, and is admired by train passengers, hikers, bikers, kayakers, and river rafters from around the world.

Take the Rhaetian Railway to Versam-Safien, in the centre of the Rhine Gorge.

Anfahrt

On the left bank of the Vorderrhein, you travel via Bonaduz along the spectacular gorge to Versam and the viewpoint high above the gorge. The bizarre rock formations are impressive.

Parken

Car park directly at the viewing platform. Limited number of parking spaces at Versam-Safien railway station.
