Pumptrack
The pump track in Jenaz near the schoolhouse in the field is one of the first three pump tracks realized in Switzerland. Built in 2010, it served as a prototype for the installation of concrete tracks.

Beschreibung

Pump tracks are endlessly mobile loops of waves and steep wall curves. Through clever weight shifting, the mountain biker advances without having to pedal. Experienced bikers get even more momentum from every wave and every steep wall curve and can even skip individual waves. Pump tracks can be driven in both directions, the different loops can be combined as desired.

Admission free, the pump track is not illuminated and not supervised, wearing helmets is mandatory. Elbow and knee pads are recommended.
Rules of use:

  • Wearing helmets is mandatory
  • Driving with motorized vehicles is prohibited
  • Glove, elbow and knee pads are recommended
  • Adapt your driving style to your skills
  • Drive carefully, be considerate of other users
  • Drive only on the roadway, not on the green areas
  • Keep the park clean, take your waste back with you

The use of the facility is at your own risk, the municipality rejects any liability.
One and the same pump track offers fun and training for both children and professionals. A sense of balance, dexterity and riding technique are simultaneously promoted with strength, speed and endurance, which brings advantages on every bike tour.

For the reasons mentioned above, there is currently a worldwide boom of pump tracks. Hardly any special equipment is needed and everyone can put their skills to the test. Since the speed is generated by their own dexterity, beginners are rather slow on the road, and thus take little risk.

The facility in Jenaz is additionally equipped with elements of a BMX track on the outer track. Due to a small starting hill and enough space for some pedal strokes, you are a little faster here, which simplifies jumping. BMX has been an Olympic discipline since Beijing 2008, in which 8 athletes compete against each other at the same time.

The pump track was initiated by the women's association Jenaz and planned by Claudio Caluori (www.velosolutions.ch). Furthermore: Bordoli Erben AG, Kieswerk Vetsch, TSG International AG, Civil Defence Group Prättigau and many other helpers.
