Palfries mountain station - Tschugga

We start the hike at the Palfries mountain station. With the Palfriesbahn, we have previously overcome around 1,250 metres in altitude in just 12 minutes. The train travels over an impressive waterfall (Ragnatscher Bach) and takes us up to the Palfries plateau.

We start an easy mountain hike to the Tschugga viewpoint. There, our ascent is rewarded with a magnificent view of Lake Walen and the Seeztal valley at your feet. 
During the mountain spring, we discover the most beautiful and diverse alpine flowers on the ascent, but especially on the ridge, such as the men's faith. A feast for the eyes! It is not uncommon to see pilot of model airplanes indulging in their hobby on the ridge.

On the Tschugga we can watch paragliders and slope planes glide down in front of the rock walls and then "climb up" again. We also see the panorama of Lake Walen on the right side.

We take the path in a southeasterly direction and walk on the asphalted alpine road to Chamm, the highest point at the entrance to the Palfries plateau. There we leave the road and take the road leading to the next Alpscherm on the right. After about 200 m we discover the trail branching off to the left and leading over the alpine pasture. This basically leads along the striking border fence towards the goal. Arriving at the destination, we enjoy the view of the surrounding area. The way back takes us back to the Palfries cable car along the same route.
