Museo Poschiavino

The Valley Museum collects and exhibits the testimonies of the diverse history, culture, art and social conditions of Valposchiavo's past. The museum has two seats, the imposing Palazzo de Bassus-Mengotti on the right side of the Poschiavino and the historic farmhouse Casa Tomè on the left side of the river.

The Palazzo de Bassus-Mengotti houses various permanent exhibitions, such as the exhibition on agriculture in the valley, the confectioners, the lifestyle of the owners and the history of the palazzo.

A special treat are the precious ethnological collections of the Municipality of Poschiavo. They are Etruscan ceramics from central Italy and a collection of votive and ritual objects from India. The Poschiavo Valley Museum will thus go from being the centre of local history to a meeting point for different cultures.
