Museo Poschiavino

The Valley Museum collects and exhibits the testimonies of the diverse history, culture, art and social conditions of the past of the Valposchiavo. The museum has two seats, the imposing Palazzo de Bassus-Mengotti on the right bank of Poschiavino and the historic farmhouse Casa Tomè on the left bank of the river.  

Palazzo de Bassus-Mengotti houses various permanent exhibitions, such as the exhibition on agriculture in the valley, confectioners, the lifestyle of the owners and the history of the palazzo.

A special treat are the precious ethnological collections of the municipality of Poschiavo. These are Etruscan ceramics from central Italy and a collection of votive and ritual objects from India. The Poschiavo Valley Museum thus transforms from a centre of local history into a meeting point for different cultures.
