The supply of the individual villages was carried out by self-help or by specialized small craft businesses, which further processed the available raw materials. At the beginning of the 20th century, for example, there were still many smaller craft businesses on municipal territory, which produced utensils for everyday life. Since many farms were dependent on hydropower, they were built near the streams.
Carpenters, bricklayers, blacksmiths, shoemakers and millers were in every faction. However, the specialized companies were to be found in Danis-Tavanasa. In Danis, no less than fifteen water-powered workshops were in operation along the Val Cuschina stream: Wagnerei, dyeing, weaving mill, spinning mill, carding, sawmill, joinery, grain mill, fruit mill, distillery, stamping mills for bones and oil. Also in Tavanasa there were capable craftsmen at work. Famous and well-known were the bell foundry, the tannery and the nail smithy.
