Beschreibung

This hike over Arosa's highest excursion mountain offers an overview of the entire hiking and skiing area. The starting point is the middle station of the Arosa-Weisshorn cable car. From here the trail leads steadily uphill through a meadow and moss landscape with far-reaching views into the Schanfigg valley. The last stitch to the summit from the Sattelhütte (unattended in summer) leads mainly through scree-covered terrain. A 360° mountain panorama and the summit restaurant await you on the Weisshorn. A steep descent towards the Carmennahütte follows with a similar character. The trail leads across meadows back into the valley past the Alpenblick excursion restaurant to Innerarosa. Here, a detour to the Bergkirchli is just as worthwhile as a visit to the Schanfig local history museum (note opening hours).

Anfahrt

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

The Rhaetian Railway runs every hour from Chur to Arosa (also in the opposite direction).

Then take the Arosa Weisshorn cable car to the middle station.

Anreise Information

From Chur along the winding Arosastrasse to the end of the valley to Arosa.

Parken

At the entrance to the village there are large signs indicating the various parking options. We recommend the Obersee car park.

The impounding reservoir Hintere Hütte is situated on 2'055 m asl in Arosa. Other than the artificial lake Iselsee/Stausee, it does not serve the power production but the artificial snow production and belongs to the Arosa Bergbahnen AG.

From the top, one enjoy a breathtaking view over more than 400 peaks of Switzerland and the neighbouring countries. Mt. With a lot of passion, Beat Caduff and Hitsch Leu have given the traditional mountain restaurant an exciting concept. Now you can expect Beat-inspired aromatic cuisine with great wines and rarities, as well as renovated, cosy hotel rooms and a snowmobile that picks up guests in the village in the evening. What has remained is the wonderful terrace and the unique location directly on the Arlenwaldweg and the Hörnlipiste.
