«Microcosmos»

"Microcosmos" is an astonishing documentary from 1996 about the everyday life of insects in a small meadow somewhere in the south of France. The directors spent four years roaming through the grass with highly differentiated macro lenses and found a fascinating world beyond human perception. As if the viewer himself had shrunk to the size of a microorganism, grassy areas appear like impenetrable primeval forests, drops of water as big as balloons and the miniature protagonists like creatures from a fantasy thriller. The Graubünden Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Ludwig Wicki, performs the music to this spectacular nature film live. This type of performance creates an extraordinary connection between image and sound, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in a mysterious and hidden world. A special movie night that appeals to the senses and presents the wonders of nature in an impressive way.
