Only the natural sounds, far away from civilization, meet our ears. Next door you can buy alpine cheese and literature, the coffee is available in the cozy Ustria Val. The small hamlet of Val with its few farmhouses from the 17th and 18th centuries is a secluded pearl at the foot of the Greina plateau – charmingly recognisable by the historic chapel of St. Margareta from 1643, which stands proudly on the hill.

The house can be reached by public transport & on foot from Chur in 1 hour to Rabius/Surrein train station, then 60 minutes on foot to the hamlet of Val or by taxi - request in the Ustria Val. From the end of July to mid-October, the Alpin bus runs down to the valley to the Sumvitg Val stop. You can reach the Maiensäss from Zurich by car in about 2 hours. Access is guaranteed both in summer and winter. The tunnel gate can be opened at the touch of a button.
