Lagh dal Teo - Il gioiello ai piedi del Piz dal Teo

Al Teo is the name of a wide rock cirque that nestles into the western flank of Piz al Teo. There, the mountain lake Lagh dal Teo shimmers. It is located well above the tree line, no tree restricts the view of the crystal clear water.

The idyllic place is quite secluded and correspondingly lonely. Not a short walk, but a longer hike leads there. You will be rewarded with unique landscape impressions and great views.

The prelude is in the idyllic Val da Camp to the hamlet of Terzana, from there steeply up to the moorland of Munt da Franzesch, where the glaciated flank of Piz Palü on the opposite side of the Valposchiavo valley shows itself above the red-golden shining reed grass.

From Aurafreida you first reach the Val dal Teo through sparse larch forest, then over a rocky terrain step, where you soon reach the shore of the Lagh dal Teo.

The way back to the valley first leads back to Aurafreida on the same path. Alternately over open pastures and through mountain forest, you descend to Motta and the pretty Pisceo alpine table, from there to Festignani and finally to Pozzulasc.

The Lagh dal Teo has two parts: a small step leads from the lower mountain lake to its smaller brother, which is a few dozen metres higher.

The route is signposted as a mountain hiking trail (white-red-white, difficulty level T2). The starting point is the Sfazù post bus stop. First on a gravel road, then on natural paths throughout, it goes to Lagh dal Teo and in a wide arc back down to the Pozzulasc post bus stop.
