Kulturschätze am Wanderweg

From the post office in Brigels, the tour leads through the village with the parish church of the Assumption of Mary in the direction of Cuort with the chapels of Sogn Martin and Sogn Sievi. The route continues up via Plumarscha and Spinachsch into the Ladral Valley, on the stream of which the old, water-powered sawmill - Resgia Gneida is located. Through the mountain pastures of Ladina, you reach the village of Andiast with its village church and chapels.

On the Senda Sursilvana you reach Curtginet with the valley station of the chairlift. On the road, at point 1064, take the dirt road to the left via Cantieni, near which the remains of the Grünfels ruins are located in the forest. After crossing the Flembach stream at the old mill, you will reach Waltensburg, a Protestant enclave, famous for the frescoes of the "Waltensburger Meister" in the village church. The hike can be supplemented with further rays of hope with a turn-off to the ruins of Munt Sogn Gieri Castle and the stone pillars of an earlier gallows from the time of the witch hunts.

On the way back via the panoramic Munsaus Trail, it is worth taking a detour to the Grotta cave castle. The memorial stone at the Crest la Crusch (Escherstein) commemorates the builders of this first drivable Oberland road from Rueun via Waltensburg to Brigels and Trun.
