Kirche Tschiertschen

The church from the 14th century is located in the middle of Tschiertschen and is an important part of the historic village centre. The church of Tschiertschen houses special gems: the precious organ and wall paintings from the 15th century. The organ in the church of Tschiertschen is one of the last and largest of the so-called Toggenburg house organs. There are two angels on the organ, which were probably added by a local carver and are popularly known as the "Badhosenengeli". The murals date back to the 15th century, when the church was built. During renovation work in 2012, these murals were uncovered.
