Chapel Disentis Sedrun
Kapelle St. Sebastian, Mutschnengia
Beschreibung
History: The tradition that the chapel is the oldest in the valley deserves little faith. Apart from St. Martin in Platta, st. Gall certainly precedes it. First mentioned in a document in 1546. specifications: The chapel facing exactly north with a rectangular nave, with a grey twin vault and the retracted, flat-closed choir covered with cross vaults. Stitch-arched windows. Entrance with straight lintel on the south front. Murals: The whole room is painted by craftsmen, probably at the beginning of the 18th century. Altars: The late Gothic altar is a relatively richly developed example of the Brixen winged altars. In the square shrine filled with an arch at the top, a crucifixion group stands in front of a golden damascus ground, flanked by Saints Sebastian and Rochus. Two oil paintings on canvas. Bells: With inscriptions 1728 and 1756.
