Beschreibung

The chapel is open daily from 09.00 - 18.00.

The simple chapel on the main street (1) was only built in the middle of the 19th century, but contains a remarkable small winged altar from the workshop of Ivo Strigel (2) from Memmingen. In the center, slightly elevated, is Mary on the crescent moon (3), as described in the Apocalypse of John. She carries the Baby Jesus holding a globe in her hands. On her left side is John the Baptist with a Bible and the Lamb, on her right side you can see St. Martin (4), who shares his cloak with the sword. The wings are painted: on the left Mary Magdalene with the ointment vessel, on the right Saint Barbara (5). On the outside of the wings are Margaret with the dragon (6) and Saint Dorothea with the angel (7). Bernhard Strigel, to whom the paintings are attributed, also created the Last Judgement (8) on the back of the altar.

On the small gallery there is another treasure, namely an organ (9) from the 18th century. It was sold in 1948, restored in 1983 and bought back three years later and re-erected on the old square in the gallery. On the grand pianos you can recognize King David with the harp as well as a music angel.
