La Tschugalata is a very large house (300m2 on 5 floors) for holidays in the Alps with several families or even with grandparents with children and grandchildren. In summer, the beautiful Surselva is a paradise for hikers, with 1,200 km of marked hiking trails. In winter, Waltensburg has its own ski area, Brigels (1,100-2,400m). With small children, it is also possible to live in the historic house (1680) with more than 16 people. The house has been restored and renovated from 2019-2022 with a lot of love and respect. Without luxury but with all modern comforts such as central heating (pellets), insulation (lime plaster),  new bathrooms on each floor, a new open kitchen, a car shelter, a spacious south-facing balcony, photovoltaics, etc. The house is sun-drenched and in rustic style with lots of old wood, original parlours, ambience and character. There are 8 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2 living rooms/parlors, an original staircase, 2 seats, a garden around the house and a sauna. The pristine, old farming village of Waltensburg (Vuorz in Romansh) is located above a rock face high above the Anterior Rhine Valley with a fantastic view of the Surselva mountains. The Surselva offers a wonderful area for hiking, cycling/mountain biking, rafting on the Anterior Rhine, hiking with horses or llamas, swimming in blue mountain lakes, paragliding, etc. Tennis and golf courts are nearby. The valley station of the Brigels/Waltensburg/Andiast cable cars is 700 metres away and can be easily reached by car or ski bus (bus stop directly in front of the house).
