We start our hike at Hospezi Santa Maria and climb at first leisurely, then steeper and in a zigzag pattern on the west side of Piz Scopi towards Passo di Gana Negra. We should actually turn right again at the signpost on the pass, but it's worth continuing for another 5 minutes until we reach a small lake. Here we encounter a unique environment. Black slate blocks, which came off the Scopi a long time ago, lie scattered across the green landscape and create an extraordinary color contrast.
After the break at the lake, we hike back to the signpost and descend to Casaccia. Along the way we can hardly get enough of the many edelweiss, cabbage florets and alpine asters. The view of the Vallone di Cassacia, with its different colored rocks and dotted with rock towers, is also fantastic.
As soon as we reach the pine forest we hear the call of the pine jay, which feels very comfortable here. Otherwise it is quiet and peaceful in the small valley of Samprou. Only at the parking lot on the street does the busy world greet us again. We take the bus back to the starting point on the Lukmanier Pass.
Geheimtipp
The hike is also very interesting if the Edelweiss are not yet in bloom or have already faded.
Ausrüstung
Hiking poles are recommended for the descent.
