Heidiland Hiking Tour 2: Amden - Flumserberg

The place of power Amden is left on the Walsaweg no. 68, which leads back down towards Walensee. At Hinterbetlis, turn left. At the end of the hamlet of Betlis, several highlights await: To the right is the Betlis Chapel in the most beautiful panoramic position, to the left the path branches off to the Seerenbach Falls. This short detour is fascinating, as it leads to a viewing platform where both the Seerenbach Falls and the Rin spring can be admired. The Seerenbach Falls plunge 600 metres into the depths in three stages, with the middle stage being considered one of the highest waterfalls in Switzerland. The Rin spring comes out of the rock face a little to the right and is the outlet of an underground river system. These waterfalls are most impressive in spring, as that's when the most water comes. Back on the hiking trail, the deep ravine of the Seerenbach is crossed on a narrow footbridge, then the hiking trail leads up through the Seerenwald, with ever-changing views of Lake Walen and the opposite shore. After about 30 minutes, the hiking trail branches off to the right and leads partly steeply over a rock ledge, back down to the lakeshore. Through vineyards, the route now continues comfortably to Quinten. The well-known wine village of Quinten has a special climate thanks to its southern exposure, where even figs and lemons thrive. Two restaurants await the visitor here, as well as a boat trip that takes you comfortably to the other side of Lake Walen.

Once you arrive in Murg, continue along the Walsaweg. The route runs slightly uphill via the village of Quarten to Oberterzen. The Churfirsten, which rise steeply on the other side of Lake Walen, are particularly impressive to look at from here. In Oberterzen, you board the panorama gondola to Flumserberg and can look down on today's route from above.

The second overnight stay takes place in the popular skiing and hiking area Flumserberg.
