Heidiland Hiking Tour 1: Weesen - Amden

Starting at Weesen station, cross the Linth Canal and then turn right towards Walensee. On the shores of Weesen, you overlook the whole of Lake Walen and are greeted by a Mediterranean flair. After passing through the town, you go uphill towards Matt. In between, the view of the lake, which is deeper and deeper down in the valley, is worthwhile. You continue to climb and to the right rises the Mattstock massif. At Oberchäseren you are directly behind the Mattstock. Opposite is the Speer, which at 1,950 m above sea level is the highest Nagelfluhberg in Europe. In the alpine restaurant, you can fortify yourself with drinks and delicious dishes in idyllic surroundings. Follow the hiking trail to Hinter Höhi. Now it is not far to precipitation, where you can take the gondola lift to the village of Amden with the best panoramic view.
