Manorial signs in Vättis were the house of the "lark" bailiff of the monastery of Pfäfers, and the presumed castle of the lordship of Rhäzüns. For a while, the village was divided between the two lords, along the Taminabach, "Vorderbrugg" and "Hinterbrugg". Today's cantonal border in the Kunkelstal ran through the middle of the village, so to speak. To secure the part of the village "Hinterbrugg" there was probably a small castle in the area near the still well-known field name Burg, surroundings Rüti at the entrance to the Kunkelstal. Vättis was and is the junction of the Tamina Valley in the direction of Pfäfers-Valens, the Calfeisental and the Kunkelstal. In addition, there used to be the equally important Guaggis-Salaz-Untervaz connection.
