Gratwanderung La Muota

From the mountain station of the cable car in Cuolm da Vi we first hike uphill on a road where we soon meet a small lake with a picnic area in Gendusas Dadens. We are here in the ski resort, but the terrain has remained quite natural from here. After passing another, slightly larger lake, the path leads us up to Lai Alv. Shortly afterwards, the ascent to La Muota begins, which is secured with a rope. However, the whole crossing of the ridge requires a good surefootedness. At the highest point we are greeted by a mighty Steinmandli and there is nothing left to cloud the vision. We overlook a mountain panorama from the Oberalp Pass down far into the Surselva. Another highlight of the tour is the wet plain Verclisa and the turquoise Lag Serein, which is as clear as the name suggests. The water temperature is not like in the Caribbean, but a short bath provides the famous "sparkling freshness"! Through alpine rose perennials we hike to the mountain station in Caischavedra. With the cable car ride into the valley and with a train ride back to Sedrun the circle closes.

Variants for hikes between the mountain stations:

1: From Gendusas Dadens continue on the road to Gendusas Dado to Caischavedra. This route runs all the way over a rough road and is therefore not very attractive. (Not suitable for pushchairs) T2

2: From Cuolm da Vi on a newly created hiking trail to Piz Las Palas and on the Senda Pauli to Caischavedra. T2

At the Cuolm da Vi mountain station there is a snack bar and at the Caischavedra mountain station there is a panoramic restaurant with a large terrace. Barbecue facilities at the lake in Gendusas Dadens.

From Sedrun station, a footpath leads to the valley station of the cable car (about 5 minutes) From the Cuolm da Vi mountain station we follow the marked hiking trail to Gendusas Dadens, Lai Alv and La Muotta. This is followed by a descent in a southerly direction, where we meet another hiking trail. In an easterly direction we continue to Verclisa to lag Serein. At the western end of the lake is the turnoff in a westerly direction to Caischavedra.
