Glacier-ground rock in the Murg Valley

The rugged mountains in the area consist of Verrucano rock. The smoothly polished rock walls along the hiking trail, on the other hand, look like natural sculptures. Fragments of rock at the base of a former glacier in the Murg valley have polished the rock walls smooth. The clear scratches can be traced back to hard blocks at the base of the former glacier.
