Beschreibung

The Gigerwald reservoir lake lies between the almost 2000 metre high, rugged and steep limestone walls at the northern foot of the Ringelspitz. It is bordered by the idyllic Walser settlement of St. Martin in the west and the almost 150-metre high dam wall in the east. Guided tours through the Mapragg power station and through the Gigerwald dam are available upon request.

Season: May - October Duration: 1 1/2 - 2 hours each

Group size: from 8 persons, groups from 20 persons are divided

Minimum age: Schools from 6th grade

Anfahrt

The imposing Gigerwald dam wall is located between the Mountain Restaurant Gigerwald and the Walser settlement of St. Martin in the Calfeisental. It is walkable (the road to St. Martin leads over it) and is located about 20-30 minutes by car from Bad Ragaz via Vättis

The central Mapgragg is located near Vasön, a little further ahead in the valley. On hiking maps, both reservoirs are clearly recognizable.
