The memorial at Pundual in Brigels honours Giacun Hasper Muoth, one of the most important Romanesque poets and writers.Giacun Hasper Muoth was born on 29 September 1844 as the son of a wealthy farmer in Brigels. From the age of 15 he spent his studies successively in Feldkirch, Disentis, Schwyz, Fribourg and Lausanne. In 1867, his father was in financial distress. The following winter, Muoth stayed in Brigels and made his first literary attempts.Among other things, Muoth translated many German songs for the Romance choirs. The granite steles of the memorial indicate the chain of the Brigelser horns and symbolize, since they are open to the lake, protection against the road and the noise. The water flame - symbol of longing.
