Gebiet Flumserberge

On the Sächsmor as well as between Prodkamm (e.g. on the Geotrail) and Magerrain, the Lias rock layers - which in places contain fossils such as mussels, belemnites and ammonites as well as beautiful deposit structures - are intensively folded. In the evening light, the moraines and the old streams on Fursch are best recognizable. On the Wissmeilen, low-vegetation white gypsum and grey dolomite layers as well as gnarled Rauhwacken towers are reminiscent of a lunar landscape.
