Garvera: A real insider from Val Sumvitg

Just getting to Val Sumvitg is a bit of an adventure and requires a car with winter equipment. From the settlement of Val, you climb up the alpine road and reach the Naustge Dado alp just 800 meters later. At 1965 m above sea level, you are now above the tree line. The landscape becomes more open. Over somewhat steeper slopes in places, you reach the shoulder of Garvera a good 300 meters later. From one moment to the next, the panorama becomes very impressive. The wow factor is huge. You now climb leisurely over the broad shoulder to the flat, nameless summit P.2437.

The descent is via the ascent route.

You can also end the tour when you reach the Garvera shoulder (P.2324, summit cross). This saves about 30 minutes of ascent and around 100 meters of altitude on the shoulder.

Descent tip: From P.1882, below Alp Naustgel, the descent through the forest is rather arduous when there is little snow. You can also take the road and only return to the route from P.1727.
