Pleasure tour at the foot of Piz Muraun.
Details
Beschreibung
We start the tour in the small hamlet of Soliva, which is still inhabited by one resident all year round. The slope up to Fontauna Rodunda is completely exposed to the sun, so there may not be much snow. Especially in spring. In the adjoining forest, we follow the summer hiking trail through a wildlife rest area.
We leave the forest at Stavel Miez and head left across open terrain up to Alp Soliva. At the alpine hut we find a sunny spot to take a break before we head for the white summit of Garvera through hollows and between snow cornices. Piz Muraun lies to our right and watches our progress. At the top there is no cross and no summit book, but all the more expanse and we look back at our beautifully prepared track. The mountain panorama with the Oberalpstock and Tödi and the view down into the valley will hold us for quite a while.
Descent:
Option 1: Along the ascent track to Soliva
Option 2: Continue over the Garvera ridge and at altitude 1938 towards Laus and on to Reits/Surrein (organised with two cars)
Geheimtipp
The descent on the trail through the forest requires a lot of attention. Tip: Mount the climbing skins.
Sicherheitshinweis
The slope above Soliva is not always snowed in. It is worthwhile to inform yourself beforehand. www.valmedel.ch
If you arrive by public transport, the tour is extended by approx. 1 hour.
Wegbeschreibung
From Soliva we climb in wide hairpin bends to the end of the road at the edge of the forest. Now we follow the trail through the forest. As soon as we reach the open field again, we keep left towards Alp Soliva. From the alpine hut, the route continues eastwards until we reach the highest point of Garvera.
