With our new acoustic hiking guide , you will learn interesting facts about geology on the Garmil High Trail.
The audio guide is accessible free of charge via the Outdooractive app (iOS/Android) and via outdooractive.com. In order for the content to be displayed, the new "Audio Guide" function must be activated in the three-dot menu on the map (bottom right). If you select a specific hike, you will see the available audio experience points along the route. But the new audio files are also ideal for inspiration. Wegbeschreibung
The tour starts at the station Gaffia, which can be reached by gondola and chair lifts of the Pizolbahnen from Wangs and via the ford. From the station we follow the signpost towards Lake Bashalva. After a few meters, there is already a refreshment stop at the old Alp Gaffia. Along the gurgling mountain stream we take the first ascent to the Chrutplangg under our feet. To the south we admire the striking Gamidaurspitz. At Basürla we branch off and after another short ascent we reach the Garmil, which rewards us with a wonderful panoramic view.
For the way back we have different combination options:
- Continue to Fürggli, where we then branch off in the direction of Furt. On the zigzag path you go down to the Vollenplangg and to Fälli, both of which belong to Alp Mugg. On the last ascent we enjoy the wonderful view of the St.Gallen Rhine Valley before we reach the Bildstöckli of Holy Brother Klaus. After a few minutes we reach the ford, end point of the hike.
- Same way back
- Combinations with the summit quartet or the 5-lakes hike
