Gamidauerspitz summit tour at Pizol

The Pizol area is known for its breathtaking views over the St. Gallen Rhine Valley to Lake Constance. Nowhere can you enjoy the view as undisturbed as on the highest peaks of the hiking area. The hike to the Gamidauerspitz is part of the summit quartet on the Pizol. The stages Garmil, Gamidauerspitz, Hochwart and Pizol can all be walked independently of each other, but can also be combined in a popular way.

On the Gamidauerspitz, the Sarganserland and the Rhine Valley lie at our feet. In the foreground, the Garmil rises to a good 2,000 m above sea level. M., to the left the view sweeps towards Churfirsten and Walensee, to the right the view of the Graubünden mountains. With a bit of luck, chamois or eagles can be observed along the way.

From the Gaffia mountain station, we follow the signs towards Lake Baschalva. After a few meters, the first stop is already at the old Alp Gaffia. The path now leads over several hairpin bends high over the Chuetschingel until we reach Lake Baschalva after about 1h 15min. Already within sight is the destination of the day, the Gamidauerspitz. From Lake Baschalva we follow the signpost in the direction of Schwarzsee. After a few more meters of altitude we reach the point Baseggla at 2280 m above sea level.M. From this point we follow the ridge in the direction of the right and after about 200m we reach the highest point of today's tour, the Gamidauerspitz.
